HOW TO EMBROIDER ON KITCHEN TOWELS - BEGINNER GUIDE

Kitchen towels are very easy projects. No matter what fabric the towels are made of, the fabrics are not stretchy, and do not need special stabilization. No matter what stabilizer you use, you will succeed to embroider any design without problems. This is why we consider kitchen towels embroidery a great place to start for beginners.

Bellow is a short guide with what you need and step by step process of a kitchen towel embroidery.

We also have some cool and trendy embroidery designs ideas to start with. Check it out!

1.SUPPLIES:

  • pre-washed kitchen towel of any type, back stabilizer: tear-away or wash-away,
  • top soluble film

2.Mark the guides

Depending on where you decide to place the design, find the middle of the design and mark with a washable pen or chalk. Leave 2 inch from the bottom

3. Prepare the hoop

  • Choose a hoop that is closest to the size of the design
  • Place the tear away or wash away stabilizer in the hoop
  • Add the kitchen towel over, center the towel by using the mark and the template of the frame
  • Add the soluble film on top
  • Close the hoop but not entirely and gently pull the stabilizer and towel marking. Don t pull to much, just to not have visible wrinkles. Don t pull the film too much. It can remain with wrinkles,it will not cause puckering.
  • Close the hoop completely.

4.Set the machine

  • Attach the frame to the machine's arm.
  • Select the design you want to stitch
  • Check the orientation and rotate the design if needed
  • Align the needle to the towel mark to center the design for the frame Use the guides and verify top, left, right and down
  • Set the tension depending on the stabilizer and towel thickness. For our Brother F480 we use a 2.6 with a medium wash away on a waffle weave towel.
  • Start the machine
